Duul Gammar, Head of Information and Communications at the Pekanbaru City Fire and Rescue Service (Damkar), said the fire was reported at around 5:01 PM WIB.

Eight fire trucks from the Jalan Kopan, Cempaka, and Bukitraya posts were dispatched to the scene.

"After receiving the report, we immediately deployed fire trucks from the three nearest Fire Department posts," said Duul Gammar.

According to Duul, when officers arrived at the scene, the fire had already grown so large that the source of the fire could not be determined. Officers also encountered difficulties extinguishing the fire due to limited water sources in the area.

Separately, the Head of Information for the XIX/Tuanku Tambusai Military Regional Command (Kapendam), Lieutenant Colonel MF Rangkuti, added that the fire broke out at around 4:45 PM WIB in the dormitory area of ​​the Korem 031/Wirabima Intelligence Team.

"The fire destroyed six houses," said Lieutenant Colonel MF Rangkuti.

The fire was extinguished at around 6:15 PM WIB by Pekanbaru City Firefighters, with the assistance of water cannons from the Pekanbaru Police.
