The proposal to reduce the sentence period was submitted to the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkumham) for those (prisoners) who were declared to have met the requirements.

Head of the Dumai Class IIB Detention Center, Bastian Manalu, when confirmed via Public Relations, Agung Maulana, explained that referring to the rules for residents who have been recorded as having served a minimum of six months in prison and behaved well while in prison, they can be proposed to receive remission.

"There are 774 convicts we are proposing to receive remission who have met the requirements," said Agung, Monday (12/8).

Currently, the Dumai Detention Center's residential capacity is 256 people, but currently it is occupied by 1059 people, consisting of . there were 209 prisoners and 850 prisoners

Meanwhile, for remission, the proposed 774 inmates consist of 749 men and 24 women, zero boys and 1 girl.

Agung said again, the proposed amount of remission for 1 month was 70 people, 219 people for 2 months remission, 241 people for 3 months, 108 people for 4 months remission, 128 people for 5 months remission, 8 people for 6 months remission.
